October 2015 - The sale of K.M. Walton's third contemporary young adult novel was announced in Publisher's Weekly: Annette Pollert-Morgan at Sourcebooks Fire has bought a new YA novel from K.M. Walton. In Ultimatum, two teen brothers, whose father's health is deteriorating rapidly, must come face to face with their demons - and each other - and set aside their differences if they are going to survive an uncertain future. Publication is planned for fall 2016; Jim McCarthy at Dystel and Goderich brokered the deal for world rights.


October 2015 - The exciting anthology K.M. is editing is announced in Publisher's Marketplace: K.M. Walton’s, BEHIND THE SONG, an anthology featuring a unique all-star lineup of contributors-young adult authors, Ellen Hopkins, James Howe, Jonathan Maberry, A.S. King, Suzanne Young, Beth Kehpart, Ellen Oh, among others, and contemporary musicians G. Love, Donn T, and Chuck Treece, who will connect to one of their favorite songs through new short fiction or personal essay, to Annett Pollert-Morgan at Sourcebooks Fire, by Jim McCarthy at Dystel & Goderich Literary Management (World English).


November 2015 - K.M. Walton’s next contemporary YA novel gets a title: ULTIMATUM. The book will release on January 3, 2017.


January 16, 2016 - ULTIMATUM earns a starred review from Publishers Weekly!


August 8, 2016 - Grammy nominated singer, Ameriie, signs on to write the foreword for K.M.’s upcoming music-focused YA anthology, BEHIND THE SONG


January 11, 2017 - Barnes & Noble includes ULTIMATUM in their “10 of Our Most Anticipated Indie YAs of 2017” list.
